Working environments

With regard to evaluation of “occupational hazards”, the EDF Fenice Environmental Services Centre (ESC) offers companies a complete set of services for the assessment of sources of occupational hazards and potential risks for the environment.

As regards sources of occupational hazard, the ESC focuses on identification and assessment of all chemical, physical or biological factors deriving from industrial activities that may in some way affect workers’ wellbeing (with consequent infringement of current regulations). The activity is directed towards identification and prior elimination of potentially “disturbing” factors and also drafting of technical-organisational solutions able to restore regulatory environmental conditions.

In parallel, EDF Fenice also evaluates potential environmental risks (in the atmosphere, ground and water), analysing possible critical aspects of the working environment deriving from the use of specific materials and products in the production process.

The activities of the ESC also include studies of the ecotoxicity of materials, prior assessments of acoustic impact and of the spillover of pollutants, based on the use of mathematical calculation models and final in-field controls with the aid of fully-equipped mobile laboratories.
