Chemical contaminants
The EDF Fenice Environmental Services Centre (ESC) service regarding the evaluation of chemical contaminants (gases, vapours, fumes and powders) addresses two main areas: emissions into the atmosphere and the working environment. The activities involved include the localisation, identification and classification of all chemical substances emitted into the atmosphere, or present in the working environment, stemming from certain production activities or the use of particular raw materials.
The activity comprises a phase of characterisation of the sites surveyed and comparison of the levels monitored with current legal limits.
The ESC provides customers, in both the industrial context and in activities to support the construction of major infrastructures, with high-profile technical expertise and instrumental facilities. An essential contribution is provided by in-house laboratories able to operate according to modern technologies in compliance with current legislation and accredited by ACCREDIA.
To carry out all types of in-field surveys, the Centre is also equipped with mobile laboratories fitted with analysers for continuous monitoring of the concentrations of the main pollutants and with hardware and software dedicated to management and real time processing of the data collected.
