O&M
With the Marzano bill on the liberalisation of the energy sector, the Italian Government aims to promote investments to keep pace with the growing demand for energy and to create a more competitive energy market.
As was to be expected, one of the first effects of the coming into force of the bill has been wide-scale revamping by operators of existing plants and the construction of new, more efficient systems.
But, to guarantee continuous generation and to remain competitive on the market, optimal functioning of production plants and more attentive operation has become a decisive factor.
Today, EDF Fenice meets this need, proposing Operation & Maintenance. However, O&M is also one of EDF Fenice’s specialised divisions, set up in the mid Nineties to manage the fleet of facilities constructed by the team of companies comprising Fiat, British Gas and Sondel; from 1997 onwards, which marked the start-up of the first pilot plants, its activities have been dedicated exclusively to operating these plants, acquiring experience and considerable professional expertise, also confirmed by high levels of Customer Satisfaction.
O&M also provides operation and maintenance of third party energy plants, with a marked managerial approach, also taking all the actions necessary to maintain maximum levels of efficiency
At the moment, the O&M division of EDF Fenice manages 6 cogeneration plants in Italy on behalf of various leading energy operators. These modern natural-gas-fired plants have a total installed power of 600 MW.
